Digitization

I can take just about any time of media– photo, slide, negative, document, VHS tape, film reel, audio cassette, 8mm videotapes– and digitize them in high, archival quality, with some general color and contrast correction to bring out the details.

This is the one major step you need to do to archive your legacy photographs. After you have the digital file, you’ll no longer need to subject your delicate items to the wear and tear of taking them out of the album to copy.

You get a DVD (or other appropriate storage device) with high-resolution .TIFF files that can be copied, printed, and used for restoration work, and a batch of low-resolution JPGs that are easy to email and share online.

Restoration

Now that you have your digital files, maybe there are a few important portraits that are faded, ripped, crazed, stained? Depending on the starting condition and the desired result, files can take one to six hours to repair.

Printing and Enlargements

You can send your archival files straight to any lab to make duplicate prints. In your consultation, you can choose the most iconic portraits to be scanned at very high resolution for enlargements.

I’m also happy to help explain all of your print options, and place your order through my favorite lab.

Canvas wraps, frames, metal prints, tintypes are also possible through me or through someone in my network. As lovely as albums can be, I’d really love to help you get that beautiful picture up on the wall!

Coffee Table Books

Create custom books full of photographs and information. They are available in five sizes, in soft-cover, hard-cover, and hard-cover with a dust jacket. All use photo-quality paper Since it can get very expensive to provide these books to everyone in the family, I put them in an online storefront, where your relatives can purchase their own copy whenever, and in whatever format they wish.

Videos

If you want the easiest way to share a selection of photos with others across the country or the globe, a video slideshow is a great way to go. It uses the high resolution scans to create a beautiful story in full HD. You get a disc to keep with your albums, and you can upload the finished movie to YouTube and Vimeo for anytime-anywhere viewing.
